The Track

    • The Track is a proposed multi-use motorsport facility planned for Keysbrook in the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale which is nearing the end of a planning and approvals process spanning years.
    • The Track would be one of the best of its kind in Australia including two accredited racetracks for cars and motorbikes and will be a major drawcard for Western Australian tourism and recreation.
    • The facility is planned as multi-use motorsports catering to car and motorbike racing, amateur car events, kart racing, rally championships, as well as driver education and road safety training.
    • Project construction to commence upon Government approval.
    • Local company Stati Group has been the driving force of the development and has a strong and ongoing connection to international kart racing and motorsports.

Attraction

    • Western Australia does not currently have a motorsport facility able to accommodate or attract the broad range of international motorsport events. The Track could potentially target:
      • Asia Le Mans Series
      • Asia Road Racing Series
      • World Rally Championshp (tarmac events)
      • Formula Drift Asia
      • TA2 Asia
      • ROK Cup Asia
      • IAME Asia Series
      • Rotax Asia
      • Various 'gentleman driver' events
    • The Track will provide WA with a new FIA level 2 internationally accredited racetrack and will complement other motorsport facilities, including Wanneroo Raceway and the Collie Motorplex.
    • The proposed racetrack has already secured site recognition for a range of important accreditation by national and international racing organisations including FIA, CAMS, MA and CIK for karting. *

Benefits

    • The Track aligns with the State Government’s Draft WA Motorsport Strategy, which highlights the need for motorsport facilities in Metropolitan Perth and regional Western Australia.
    • The proposal has already been cited in the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale Economic Development Strategy 2018-2023 for its benefits in contributing to diversification of economic activities.
    • The Track will provide economic benefits and jobs for Western Australia including new quality tourism opportunities.
    • Direct economic and tourism benefits will include:
      • Direct employment at events (stewards, marshalls, admin, catering, medical, etc).
      • Increased demand for short stay accommodation tied to events.
      • Increased demand for food, catering services and supplies for functions and events.
      • Complimentary industry and sales such as mechanical and allied service industries.

Location

    • The Track is proposed for construction on 50ha of land owned by the Stati Group in Keysbrook, zoned active (commercial) rural - close and convenient to Perth, nearby surrounds and transport routes.
    • The site was chosen after a two-year review of 22 potential locations across metropolitan Perth.
    • The location offers the best amenity and least possible impact on surrounding areas of any similar facility in Australia and internationally.
    • Located in an active rural zone, not rural living, The Track land is under the flight paths of the nearby Serpentine Airfield and surrounded by poultry farms, turf farms, aquaculture, a quarry and very few permanent residents.
    • Stati Group has planning and environmental assessments and approvals underway, with construction estimated over 18 months to commence when approvals are granted.
    • The site was chosen with manageable potential impacts in mind, including required drainage works and mitigation of noise and vibration through construction and operation of the motorsports facility.
    • 17 dwellings are located within a 2km radius of the site - considerably less than similar facilities within WA, nationally and worldwide.
